im a 23 year old Scottish girl on the years working holiday visa....i am contemplating going fruit picking.....i have heard good and bad stories....perhaps looking to see if anyone else is interested in extending their visa with me...are there any particular places/farms which have a good reputation with travellers? or as anyone any suggetions where would be good to go at this time of year?

Here are a couple of sites for you to look at in assisting you where to go (what seasonal areas etc.)

I truly believe you will get the best info from the backpackers hostels as to what area and what farms are the best. Look on their info boards and ask others around the areas. You will also find others interested in going. Possibly put up a note and ask if anyone else is intending to go.

Good luck and have fun. Be warned fruit picking can be fun BUT it is extrememly hard work.

Go to this link and click on the different regions on the right hand side. Somewhere in this forum there's a story about a place called the Mildura International Hostel in Mildura. It sounds quite awful.

yeah im thinkin about doin the same thing...tbh heard mostly bad things but think itl b worth it to stick it out for that second year...ill gladly come along if u need some company! although im not even there yet so ur gonna have to wait lol...

im iin mildura now doing the harvest work i can say now that i have had mor of a laugh here than in all the other places ive been in oz the works not to bad money can be shit depening on the job but all in all its all good!
