yo yo,

Im on the verge of organising a trip to Thailand in Feb '07 for about 3 weeks (god damn full-time employment) and am interesting in know about any festivals that on during February.

any info?

also, i am interesting in doing my padi advanced scuba course. does anyone know the best places to dive and about what this course would cost.

prices are really cheap, and people there are really nice !

the diving in tao is excellent in february, you can see big sharks all the time !!!
after that, maybe you can go for a short liveaboard in the similan islands, and you will have seen the best of thai diving ;-)

No major festivals that I see from looking at my 2007 calendar, but the annual Chinese New Year holiday will be going on that month. The official lunar New Year date is Feb.18 but celebrations are going on the whole month.
That holiday period always draws lots of tourists to Thailand. Not that they want to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Thailand, but they want to escape the celebrations in other Asian countries, such as China and Taiwan during that time! This translates to lots of tourists in Thailand in February. But there is a bit of celebration going on here in Bangkok, too, over in the city's Chinatown area of Yaowarat. Parades and fireworks await you. Actually, calling it "Chinese" New Year isn't entirely correct, since it's a Lunar New Year celebration and celebrated my many countries in the region.
