Hello everyone!
I have a question for all the experts and freindly travellers:
We are a family of 6 - 5 of them divers - My father and mother - me (25 years) and my three sisters (24 - 22 and 20 ) and we plan to travel in JANUARY 2007, for about 3 weeks... ... We plan to travel to KL , stay there for 3 days, and then head to a diving spot, after that go to a nice beach to chill and relax. All around Malaysia or Indonesia
Which is the best diving spot??? Lankayan, Layang Layang or Sipadan?. What do you recommend??
Are there are any good diving spots in Indonesia, because maybe we are planning to go to Bali, but I dont know if the diving is good.
I heard Bali is a great beach place, but it seems to be very touristic, does somebody know good paradise beaches in Indonesia, not very touristic, I just want names to start planning and doing some research about the places.
any other recomendations are welcomed!!!
THX EVERYONE AND GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AMERICA
BYE

Hi Javier,
You will never find Malaysia boring....the multi-racial outlook, coupled with fabulous food and sights will be the highlights. And, we have fine beaches too, on the mainland peninsular, we have the east coast - pulau perhentian & tioman among them..But I would recommend Sipidan as the best spot. Well, as you say, Bali is too touristic and not the best spot for diving and even snorkelling ( I dont rate it even as a surfer's paradise). The best spots are in the sulawesi area. In the north, near Manado, you have the Bunaken National Marine Park. For more info on dive sites in Indonesia, you may try this website:www.underwaterindonesia.com
cheers.

Hi Yanka
You should look at the Gili Islands off the coast of Lombok if you are considering Bali.
I've only snorkled there but the coral reefs are excellent, the water clear and the sea life (including turtles) abundant.
I stayed on Gili Air which is really quite unspoilt. The beaches are clean with pure white sand. Plus there's no motor traffic.
It really is an island paradise
