If you have considered to teach English in a big city.It will be absolutely Guangzhou.
First,Guangzhou is the third biggest city in China,it's international,easy-shopping and has a convenient traffic system.
Second, compare to Shanghai and Beijing,it's in great need of native English speaking teacher. If you were a native English speaker, you can make a big buck in Guangzhou.
The last point and also the most important point is all greatest Chinese food gather in Guangzhou. You can taste special food from all around China in Guangzhou. Most foreign friends I met said the Cantonese food impressed them most.

I have a friend teaching English in the New Oriental School in Guangzhou. If you have Guangzhou in your plan, maybe I can help.Just leave me a message.

Hi Tyler, I don't know if you're already in China, but I'll be going to Guangzhou in a week or so.
Being a native speaker is vital for some places in China. As I'm a native speaker, but with a Brazilian passport, I wasn't accepted in many schools in China and my Work Visa was turned down in Beijing.
If you're still looking for a reliable source of jobs in the world (not only China), post your CV in www.tefl.com. There are over 30 schools in China looking for English teachers, preferably native.

Hope I've been of some help, take care (if you go to Guangzhou, hope we can meet up there).
