Could anyone please suggest places (countries) to visit in Europe sometime middle of January 2007 for a 7 to 10 days break. I have visited Czech, Austria and Swiss. Love them.

London! Don't know where you're visiting from but London is beautiful in January! Can be a bit cold though. As a suggestion since you've got quite a bit of time, you could split it up and maybe spend a couple of days in London (maybe do a theatre break, have some very good deals) then maybe get a cheap flight with someone like easyjet and go somewhere a bit warmer...One of my favourite places in Europe is Monaco! Fly down to Nice and stay in Nice, it's cheaper and bigger! From Nice you're 20 minutes away from Monaco in 1 direction and 20 minutes from Cannes in the other direction by train. You're only 40 mins away from Italy too so it's a great base for exploring the med. While there visit Karement in the grimaldi forum in Monaco. Without a doubt the BEST nightclub I have ever been to! You can get the early train back to Nice, a tip though - drinks in Moaco are v expensive and v strong! Order singles and drink before you get to the club! ALso, visit the casino in Monaco, it's stunning and a real experience! When in Nice and Cannes try the back roads for some of the best restaurants. La Voglia in Nice by the cours saleya is very good too. Just a suggestion! Have fun!

What about Budapest.
I went there one January.
The Turkish baths are great, to warm up.

Hello, thanks for your reponses.

I quite like the idea of Budapest but is it cold in mid january? How cold does it get over there? And on a per day basis, how much $$$ is needed per day?

A friend suggested Italy. Any idea whether it's good (or economical) to visit in January?
