Hi, my name is Irina, I'm 23 and live in Moscow (Russia). I have so far little experience in travelling but would like to get some. This September I'm going to Spain. May be someone will join me or give me some useful advice?

Hi Irina,

Welcome to Travellerspoint! I am sure you will love Spain...most people do because the country has so many different things to like.

I loved Barcelona so I would definitely include it if travelling to Spain. It has some of most beautiful buildings I have ever seen but then again, I haven't been to Russia yet and I hear that there are some beautiful buildings there too....

Happy Travels!

ps. I moved this thread to Europe/Spain because I think you will get more response there....

Hi Irina,

I'm currently in Cordoba in Spain and enjoying it greatly. The people are very friendly and there are some amazing buildings to be seen. I have noticed there are quite a few Russian travellers here and have seen a few tours and brochures with Russian translations, so that may help you a little. In general it is pretty easy to get by if you know English and are willing to learn some keywords. Any time you spend learning Spanish beforehand though will pay off!

Barcelona has been my favourite city so far, the buildings are amazing and the old town is beautiful to wander through. Among the highlights are the Sagrada Familia (the unfinished cathedral started by Gaudi) and the large cathedral in the old town (which has a beautiful cloister especially). Maybe I am a little slanted towards cathedrals

After the beautiful buildings of Barcelona, the Alcazar in Seville has been the most impressive place to visit, so if you get a chance to visit Andalusia, make sure you pay that a visit.

I hope you have a great trip!
