Hi,

I am currently travelling through Asia with my partner and the idea is to end up in India before flying home to Scotland. We are now in Malaysia and the plan is to go to Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia (possibly China too) before heading to India. We are having problems finding cheap flights into the country as we have no idea what sites/companies are best for this route. Basically we are not fussy as to where we fly from Asia into India, but would like to end up in Delhi or Mumbai. We will then be flying onto Edinburgh, Scotland after about a month. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where would be the best place to look for these flights as we do not want to take the overland route through Burma as we have heard it's not advised at the moment?

Thanks
Rach

If you fly from Bangkok to India then Air India is a little cheaper than Thai. Kolkata is cheaper than flying to Delhi as well. I paid about 13,000 baht for a return from Bangkok to Delhi with Thai, Air India was about 12,400. I think a 1 way ticket is about 60 - 80 percent of that price normally, however, don't quote me on that last bit of info.

Yasar's idea of using makemytrip.com is a good one. You may also want to try www.weflyhome.com.

Hope this helps,

Pranav

How long before you fly do you need to book?
I'm doing the same thing, flying to delhi from bangkok, return flight.
Is there any date when the prices will go up? How for ahead should you book your flight?
We're planning on flying to india around the 28th of February. Do you think it would work to just go to bangkok a few days before that date and book the ticket? Or maybe I should book it before I even go to thailand? (o the 6th of feb)
