Hello

I'm off to China on the 28 December, where I'm starting in Hong Kong and finishing off in Beijing.

In regards to a visa, do I need to get that before I leave or do I get that when I arrive in Hong Kong as when reading up on it, it mentions I can get a China visa in Hong Kong? Does that mean I don't need a visa to get into Hong Kong?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John

Hi John

You dont need a visa for entering Hong Kong on a British passport but you do need one for China.

I had to get mine here in the UK (well Dublin!) l had to personally hand in my passport along with the visa application. Then go back personally and collect it too. You can down load the visa application online.

Im not too sure about getting one in Hong Kong though lm sure some other TPers will be able to advise you!

You can get a visa at pretty short notice in Hong Kong. Try Googling for an agency called Forever Bright, they do a good job and charge reasonably too.

There are lots of places in HK to get your China visa.

You can just hit one of the China Travel Agency in Hong Kong and they can give you a visa within a day (cost more) or 3 days. It's cheaper to get the China visa in HK.
