Cordoba's fun. Student city, but much smaller than BsAs. I found it friendly, and quite manageable. Mendoza's over-touristy.

Both cities are smaller than BA, and have pros and cons. If we think of nature they are much more beautiful: Cordoba has amazing hills, valleys, rivers. Mendoza has stunning mountain sceneries and vineyards. Nightlife is less varied, but you'll find good places to go anyway. Corboba is cheerful, Mendoza refined, and both worth to visit.

I spent about a week in Cordoba during my trip to Argentina in August. The town is friendly, with shopping and beautiful colonial architecture. When there I think we stayed at the Windsor Hotel, which is right in downtown Cordoba. We didn't get the chance to visit Mendoza on our trip. I would recommend taking a bus to Cordoba, if you are heading there from Buenos Aires. The buses have very comfortable seats and I slept for almost all of the 9 hours. Have a good trip.:)
