Kerala Kalamandalam, the temple of dance and music is in Kerala, its a century old institution where dance and music is taught and practised in the age old traditional way.You may like to visit this place.

Kerala has everything to offer to you,i mean, dance, music, organic farming,saris..so rather than travelling around south india i would suggest to make Cochin the base and travel in Kerala.

Accomodation and travel is very reasonable and comfortable,im a native of kerala and i have lived there for 20 yrs,so in case u wanna knw anythin more, pls send a msg...

vicky :)

NB: I dont do this for money, neither am i a representative of any travel agent or tour operator...for a living i work as an Operations Lead in one of the flagship companies in Bangalore.

This is just a footnote to dispel any misunderstandings that my fellow travellers may have.

Move in directly into Chennai where the Annual Music and dance Festival is on.Hundreds of Programmes every day from morning till night. This is a sight you wont see anywhere on earth.Importantly, the standard of music is very high and to perform here is the dream of many.

Ofcourse, you shouldnt miss out on Madurai, Hampi for excellence in architecture. Western ghats have abundance of eco tourism and you can start from Kodaikanal.Dont miss out Kerala and her famed expanses of aqua and wonderful sights of green.
