I am planning a trip to Asia (October 2007) to seriously shop, shop and more shop. Could someone please tell me where I would bet the most for my money for designer womens clothing/shoes/handbags and tailors: out of the following places: Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Bangkok? :)

The cheapest would be Bangkok although some itemswon't be real (though no-one back home would ever know)
Second on the list would be Singapore (though take your credit card!)

Hello Tominsn

The tailors in India are very skilled, and if u choose the right ones they are also very cheap. They can copy anything. So u can buy something, and some material. They will copy it exactly. If i was in your position, and looking for a tailor, to do things cheaply and skillfully, i would firstly go to a few villages and check if there are women who do tailoring, in their houses.

Like Paul, i would guess, that Bangkok would be the cheapest place, to buy ready made clothes.

For genuine designer items in Singapore, Orchard Road has an entire row of shopping complexes for those. They aren't cheap, though the currency exchange rate may prove to be favourable to you.
