check the hostels out they normaly have free booklets informing the place to be at what time for fruit picking etc.

a good place with all year round work is tully in queensland and just west of sydney mildura normally plenty of work a train here will take 11 hours and cost about 100 bucks , if you check this site out backpackingaround.com and look for work on there theres alot of good contacts on here.

Shepparton pick up after xmas but dont go there after new year or u could be waiting ages to find work there as everyones skint and looking, go there now if possible and get your self signed up in the local harvesting office.

i made a mistake of going to shepparton after new year celebs and ended up having to sleep on the roadside for 2 weeks and still dident get now work and there wasent just me there were plenty more , .

Try this site for fruitpicking and other jobs:

And another one for other jobs as well:

Here is one with a story from another backpacker on her experiences - it may assist you.

Good luck and I hope you get plenty of work. it is a good way to see Australia and also to meet the 'real" Aussies.

With regards

You shouldn't have any problems finding work in fruitpicking. Most people leave after a few weeks because its really hard work and it doesn't pay very well. Go to the Travellers Contact Point on George Street (428 I think). They have several job postings.
