Star this if you like it!
Just wondering if anybody has had any experience with this tour group? http://www.intrepidtravel.com/html/trip_home.php?code=TAE
Was thinking of doing something like this as I am a first time female traveller travelling alone. I know its a bit steep than going it alone but thought this might be ideal to ease me into it. Worth it? any advice appreciated!
Cheers

your not going to like me...
but i wouldnt even bother going to some agency that spoon feeds another! especially when a good chunk of your trip is stuck on a boat!
do it yourself, go at your own pace, do the things you want to do and see etc...you will miss out on the core attractions! that one wants to see!
if your affraid of doing it on your own and been female etc...dont be! you will meet loads of cool people at hostels were you will be able to hitch with them! trust me!
good luck!

Agree with Oslaue. Read about the safety in those countries in stories you find in www.ralph.nl (Travel to the horizon) and www.Ridetheroad.com
There's a Dutch oganisation I can recommend. They have a trip in Northern Thailand and Laos: www.cycletours.nl
I made some other bikingtours with them. Reliable but not cheap.
Good luck!

Are you talking about setting something up before you leave home or setting something up after you arrive in Bangkok?
First, I would not set up any tours while you are still back home. After you get to Bangkok you can walk into any of the many hundreds of travel agencies and choose an organized tour from their selection books. This will give you some freedom to simply explore Bangkok or whatever city you end up in and then select a tour to some of the surrounding attractions.
You are free to compare those prices and offerings with other travel agencies for best selection or price. Getting your tours set up after you get to Bangkok will save you money.
Good luck.

I def agree with Frosty.
Your much better off to book something when you arrive in Bangkok or wherever your destination may be as it works out cheaper for a start. Tours are certainly less dauting for people travelling on their own plus ure sure to meet people that way so I wouldn't rule it out. They're also stress free. However make sure whatever tour you choose includes the places & things you want to see/visit before you book.
I did a tour from Bangkok to Singapore with Intrepid and I would def recommend them. Not all the places we went I wanted to visit (some were crap imo) but I think Intrepid try to show you as wide a range of cultures and experiences as possible, so theres a chance that theres gonna be places not to ure taste, nevertheless they were a good experience.
