Hi, my friend and i will arrving in Nadi late Feb/early March 07, and we have no idea where the best place is to stay, is it better to travel to one of the other islands away from Nadi? How much is it for boats to other islands and stuff, basically we are simple fellas wanting to relax by the sea, snorkel, fish and sup a few beers on a night, if anyone has been and knows of a great place, or anyone that is going to be there about the same time, please let me know, i would deeply appreicate it..

I would check out Octopus Resort on Waya Island in the southern Yasawa group. The resort will get you there by boat and it takes about an hour and half. I was there a few years ago and they have updated it a bit since I was there. They put in a pool which is a plus. You get snorkle and mask when you arrive for the days you are there and you can hop of the beach and snorkle around. It is a simple place, no roads, cars, nightlife, or shops. If you want to relax in a beautiful inexpensive place this may be the place for you. They have a small bar where you can get drinks and they have nightly activities. The prices include breakfast and dinner and the food is excellent. I would highly recommend it. Brent

A really nice place in Nadi itslef is called Smugglers cove which is right on the beach. If you're looking to see the island I would definitley recommend the Fiji Experience, this gives you a really good insight into the Fijian culture and is actually really cheap. I didn't see too many of the islands but went to Beachcomber Island which is considered the main party island but is nothing like a typical european 18-30 resort - the food is really good there and there is loads going on as well as great snorkelling.

Whatever you do have fun.
