Hi,

Im looking at going to Europe, preferably Poland this year to teach English.

Ive worked for a residential developer for five years and have recently got back from a few months travelling OZ and really want to go away again but this time to teach.

Ive got a degree, am obviously a native english speaker and am 27 years old.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the best way to go about applying for placements.

Ive looked into this a lot and I think the TESL certificate will be a help, and i could complete that for around £200. But there are also companies that set you up with a job and train you to get the certificate when you go abroad, but they all seem to charge around £1000!

So just would be grateful for any advice of people that are teaching english abroad or have already done and have any recommendations???

Thanks very much.

Rob

Hi Rob,

Well, if I were you I probably send my application / request directly to language schools... Once (not so long ago) someone searched for the same job in Slovenia and I advised him to do that. I wrote him some e-mail contacts from language school here and couple of days later he got some replies (if I remember correctly also positive one)... I don't know for Poland :( but I think it's worth of try. ;) When do you plan to start? Because most of the schools begin with courses in September / October but I guess they need staff some earlier.

A lot of luck, Urska
