israel will attack iran (first asking americans permission), iran then attacks israel...when going gets tough and iraq are in a position to look after themselves then all american troops take a walk to the dark side and walk over the border to take on the iranian government.

the war will last a month! israel struggling for 3 weeks and 1 week (at most for the americans), big struggle for iran since a lot of the younger people are against there own government, one of the main reasons why america has never went near iran, hoping the people will over throw the government before the americans will use force...

anyway thats my perception...o and it will be a nuclear war...providing the iranians have neclear weapons and use them which they will...and for sure israel will use theres without hesitation.

iranian army is almost laughable...

I very much think Bush wants to and he will go for it unless he gets denied the money from Congress or the Military starts to revolt. As one of the Commentators in the Guardian put it, it's an administration that has nothing to lose and wants any sort of military victory possible. They know that they'll be gone in 2 years and they don't have to face election race. And besides they don't care what's coming after them. It's like some warped sense of 'History will prove us right in the future'.
I think the problem is that there's too much power resting with one man and with the two parties so paranoid of losing voters by appearing 'unpatriotic' by refusing funds to the army things look very bleak.
But there's still hope that things don't turn out violently. It seems that the Ayatollah got fed up with the Antics of his Prime Minister and the people are, too. If they change to a more moderate tone they won't give Bush an excuse to attack. But there's always Iraq that Bush can point a blaming finger to Iran. However, interestingly, the insurgents are Sunnis and Iran is a Shia state. So why should they support insurgents to fight the government of a country that has more ties to them than the opposition?
It's all political I suppose, but a lot doesn't really make sense. Only if you look at it as an excuse to wage war. Realistically, Iran has a good hand with Iran - The Shia leaders look towards the Ayatollah for spiritual guidance and it would make sense to just wait until the Americans are gone and then influence the Iraqi politicians.
But the main problem is Bush and his puppeteers with their unpredictable behaviour. Another Guardian commentator compared him to an addicted gambler who would put in all his money in one last attempt to win.
But I sincerely hope that there won't be any more war in the region.

alas...bush may as well do the lot and get rid of iran and .n.korea while hes at least everyone can just blame one man apose to many presidents of america to be...

anyway i believe if it wasnt bush then some other president would have done it...

the difference between bush and kerry is: kerry says had he been president he would have attacked n.korea or what gives...
also clinton said the same...they see iran and n.korea far bigger threats to the US and Israel than any other nations in the world.

Bush has replaced the current 2 military commanders in Iraq with new ones. Whether he does it to show the American public that he has new ideas about this war isn't clear. What is clear is one of the commanders is a Navy guy. Yep, the Navy! In a month or two, there'll be 2-3 carriers in the Gulf. Many believe Bush is setting the chessboard for potential air-strikes against Iran. It could be posturing to force Iran to back-off its activities in Iraq as well as the nuclear program.

The US air-power is too overwhelming for a country like Iran. However, the US will have the same situation of not being able to control the population if invasion happens.

Hello Traveltola

I dont know. But surely, if they attack another country, they will be taking on more than they can handle. And how many more wars can they afford financially? And with the rest of the world screaming their objections.

Are u considering a trip to Iran? I was, but I think I will wait, until the threat of attack from the US is over.
