Travel Forums Europe Work in the Greek Islands?

Hey all,
My friend and I are heading off on our European OE in May, and will be finishing up all our tours, etc, in Athens in mid July.
We are planning on skipping over to one of the islands and working for the rest of the summer in a bar/restaurant.
We are both from NZ, but i have a full UK passport, and my friend is looking into gettting a Greek Visa.
Does anyone know how strict they are on those in the islands? We were planning to do the same in Italy, but from what we have heard, finding work over there even with a visa is really hard. Greece sounds a lot nicer and there seems to be a lot of work available, at least from what i've seen over the net.
Anyway, was wondering if anyone had any thoughts. Ie, whats the best island to go to, etc. I was thinking either Crete, Kos, Santorini or Naxos. They are the names that seem to come up a lot :)

Thanks if anyone can share any ideas! :)

Hi there...

The islands of Crete and Rhodes some of the more touristic islands in Greece will be easy to get jobs. Some hotels or bars or restaurants hire foreigners for the summer... so i would try them first, some hotels or small complexes might also offer you accomodation as well or help you sort that out. My advise would be to go early in April as from May these islands receive their first tourists.
