Hi,

Do you guys know where I could get a Bangkok - Phetchaburi (and vice versa) time schedule? I'd like to catch the earliest bus from Bangkok to Phetchaburi and hope to be back to Bangkok before the Grand Palace and Jim Thompson House closes. I found the site of one of the bus companies but everything is in Thai. http://www.transport.co.th/

Thanks!

Phetchaburi Road or the city Phetchaburi? If it is the New Phetchaburi Road the Skytrain gets you to the Asia Hotel and from there to New Phetchaburi Road is about a 4 minute walk.

If one of the above can't help you ask the hotel front desk person to call the bus station for you and inquire. Or, try Google.

If you are going to provinces such as Petchburi, buses leave the stations very frequently. I would guess one per hour if not one every 30 minutes. You won't have to wait long.

Hello Makulit.

I dont think there is such a schedule.
Maybe, this is because there are a lot of bus companies, going to the various places.

But the train runs, to Phetchaburi. Here is a link for the train time tables, which u can change to English. www.railway.co.th

Hey makulit,

I went to Grand Palace today ... koool place and from there u can go to c Reclining Budha and then Temple of dawn, but GP closes at 3:30,

so far i had no problem in roaming around... its either SkyTrain or bus or u can also hire a scooter... its fun they way they drive it ...

or if all choices go out , u can get a cab... and by far ppl wud have told u that u have to FORCE them to use the meter.... :)

have a nice trip.....

Franzine,
Basically you need to get yourself over to the Southern bus terminal(Sai Tai Mai) and get the first bus going to Phetchaburi. Between the fan & air con bus, something will be leaving every hour. Easy. Then check times for BKK when you get to the Phetchaburi station for your return. Have a great trip.

Thank you!

Are these buses 24 hours? I'm thinking of taking a 10pm flight from Manila which arrives at 12am in Bangkok. I thought I'd get some sleep first and get a 6am bus to Phetchaburi province.

Where in the world is rola_jutt?! Thought you were on your way to Singapore. So, GP closes early do you know what time it opens? Maybe I should go there first before going to Phetchaburi.

Hey Mel. Thanks for the link. I was contemplating on taking the train, but heard it takes longer. Though, I'm more comfortable riding the train. My fear is if I ride the bus I'll miss my stop. At least, if I miss my stop on the train maybe I'll just get on another train from the next station. I'm such a worry wart! Haha!

Thanks again for your answers! This forum rocks!

Hello Makulit

U wont miss your stop, if u take the bus. Just tell the conductor where u are going.

I think the train might be the wiser choice. I was looking for bus info, about busses to Phetchanaburi. I cant find any. Not even which bus station they go from. Maybe somebody else can give this info.

6AM is not so early. But, I think if u do not book a train ticket in advance, then u might not be able to get on the train u want, because sometimes they are all booked up. But at the worst u will have to wait, for a few hours. Also, trains do not always arrive, in towns, at the time they are supposed to. So make sure u always check, which town it is, everytime the train stops. Easy to do. The signs are clear and written in Roman letters.

Just looking above now. Vegasmikes info seems right. The busses do leave frequently, to a lot of destinations. And most go from the southern bus station, as far as I know. And I dont think the busses are ever booked up.
