Hello Aarantes

I think it depends on what type of job u want, in tourism.
Some u would need a degree for, and many not.

Personally, if I wanted to work in the tourist industry, i would study more core skills, rather than tourism. eg languages, computer skills or whatever else would be useful, to the type of job, u are looking for.

I dont know which country would be the best, to study tourism in. I think all countries run tourism courses, and I dont see how one could be better than another.

Mel is right...get with the picking up of languages and computer skills. in general the market for people working in tourism is over saturated.

my x is studying tourism in south africa, and regrets it.

but the real deal at the end of the day is that in general the money earned working in tourism is very very poor.

become a nurse and you can live and work in any country in the world! were the governments open there arms...such as usa, australia, ireland as there is a HUGE shortage of it pays ok well much better than tourism.

and its the only job that i know were one can have kids and come back in as a nurse after 10 years!!!

i know some girls who were travel agents and they got out of it quite quickly after a couple of years...

the more technical a course is ... the better.

Hi, Guys. Thank you for your help. Acctualy I'm not a young girl trying to to define what I'm going to be. I'm 30 and I already have a career from which I'm getting really tired of. I would like to start a business of my own and I was thinking about a service on tourism. I was wondering if study would help. I'll not look for a job anyway. So I guess studying won't help. I agree on the language stuff. I'll focus on that.

Thank you.
