see the replies under the recent "Myanmar" thread. A lot of interesting things to see and do in the country. I've been to many countries in Asia and I think Myanmar is the most interesting of the bunch.

Myanmar visa allow for stay for 28 days. If you have a time you can travel many places. For your information you can visit to http://travelstomyanmar.com web site.
Travelling by public transport highway bus are cheapest, mostly in the night driving.
Train are some time delay and not very good as others.
Domestic flight are safe although cost are high.
For the better way, some places go by car, some by flight and some by boat if you accompanied with tour guide is more convenient
and safe cost.

For the sightseeing in one place, you should rent a car by daily. It cost about 30.00 U.S$ per day including fuel and driver.
In Myanmar is almost the safe for tourists, no troubles for visitors in Myanmar.
Accommodation is you can choose First class hotel, Standard class & economy class guest house.Room rates are depends on the room category. For the Standard class room rate is between 25-35.00 U.S$ includes breakfast.

we've been to Burma recently and liked country & people very much. It was our first time there and so we did more or less the "standard"-route:
Yangon - Heho (domestic flight) / Inle Lake - Mandalay (by car with driver) - Bagan (by express boat) - Ngapali Beach (by car with driver via Pyay) - Yangon (domestic flight)

Compared to its neighbour Thailand, Burma is still more authentic and rudimental and the people are very friendly and helpful!
For Accomodation we spent between 12 $ and 25 $ for a double room with private bathroom, food is cheap as anywhere in SE-Asia though to us the burmese food was not as delicious as the varied Thai cuisine.
A really unforgettable experience for as was the balloon flight over Bagan at sunrise - not cheap, but it's worth it, see some pictures:

Wish you a nice journey!

Filika - Best regards,
