North of the Equator and south of the Tropic of Cancer is rainy season which extends into October, last night here in the Central American city where I live it was beautiful until after sunset, spent time with friends at an outdoor cafe, 10 minutes later was lightning and thunder and pouring rain and howling winds for over 2 hours, the power was down 20 minutes, do not forget your rain gear and umbrella if coming to visit us...the good news is that it generally only rains late afternoon or at night unless there is a "temporal" (rain lasting a day or more) from ahurricane or storm system. So, here in El Salvador the sun shines 350 days a year!! Take that Seattle!
