We're going to Bangkok in September or October, and I'm planning on buying lot's of pop culture goodies there. This would be things like magazines, DVDs, videogames... I was wondering if you can get in trouble with certain things, if you wanna take them back to Europe. And, if it isn't cheaper to just stick it all in a box and have that mailed to home.
I know for instance that lots of software in Bangkok shops is supposed to be illegal, but I will be looking for vintage videogames and stuff, not the latest Windows.

HI
last time i was in Bangkok i picked up a load of DVD's (about 20 w/cases) and shoved them in my backpack and got home with them no problems. I think if you are unlucky enough to get searched when you arrive home, the worst that can happen is that they may take them off you, but thats it i think.
Not sure about sending dvd's home from Thailand, may be OK if you package them up in a shoe box or something?

I'm not so much interested in bootlegs or illegal copies, so that won't be the problem I think. I guess I'll just try it when I'm there, and see what happens!
