has anyone purchased any tango shoes whilst in Buenos Aires. There are quite a few in town, but thought i'd see if anyone had any personal recommondations on where to buy some from...keep hearing these rumours of places that make them specially for you and they are supposed to be quite cheap. if anyone has had this done and could tell me the name of the place it would be much appreciated.

Neotango shoes on San Juan (somewhere about 2200s, close to the intersection with Entre Rios anyway) is cheap, non-touristy and highly professional. I bought a couple of pairs there, and they are really very good quality. Downtown and around Abasto shopping mall you'll find a lot on offer, too, but at tourist prices.
