hey everyone... :)
i'm so glad i found this thread. just finished reading all the post. very long process but very useful. i just want to say thanks to those who have been offering advices and help all the way! very beneficial to newbies like yours truly!

my best friend and i both love travelling and currently, we're in the midst preparing for WHM. so fingers crossed it will go smoothly! ;)

just a note: i found out from the VHS ppl that if you have a friend or relative in the UK who will be accommodating you, it is vital you get them to write and send you a letter of invitation and bills (phone, water, electricity even mobile) besides tenancy agreement, s/p, and whatever to back up as evidence. hope this helps! :)

I'm new to this forum.
I think it would be quite helpful if someone could summarized all the important infos because it is lenghty.
Could someone help me with these questions?
1. my passport will expire in 2010 but i wish to apply, will it affect the visa procedure?

It would be very helpful if you could help yourself first by doing some research on your own before you ask for help. There are so much information here on this thread (some may be outdated) and on this thread as well. You just have to read it. If you still have doubts, then post your question here, and be specific unlike your broad request.

Anyway, to answer your question about your passport, it should not affect your application. When your passport is near expiry, you may renew it at the Malaysian High Commission in London. The WHM visa on your old passport is still valid as long as you have both passports together. Or you could renew your passport now before you apply for the WHM. The Immigration Department will compensate up to 6 months of validity if your passport hasn't expire. I did this last year. My passport was still valid for another 15 months, but they gave me an extra 6 months (the max) on top of the 5 year validity. So in all, I sacrificed 9 months validity; but I prevented future hassles of having to renew it and carrying two passports.
