Hi, everyone, I'm new

Hello, and welcome to Travellerspoint!!! You've come to the right place to learn more about travel and exchange ideas with people just like you: people who enjoy seeing the world beyond their backyards.
With the internet being what it is, I'm sure everyone has been spammed or received unwanted solicitations by e-mail. Isn't it fun to have to clear out your inbox when 200 junk e-mails find you?
So here at Travellerpoint, we try to limit the opportunity for spammers to get to you by asking you to refrain from posting personal e-mail addresses and promotional website links in any of the forums. This is a very effective way to reduce the possibility of receiving the dreaded spam, spam, spam!!!
And please take just another moment to review the Forum Rules. They can be found here: FORUM RULES
Thank you, and again, WELCOME!!
Hi i am new here. thank you for info.
Hi ! It's a great thing to be a member of this great site
Hi
I'm Cathie. I came in search of an alternative to Thorntree. The reason being they started to delete my posts where I gave a response to another poster who recommended a tour guide in Ghana . I had a really poor experience with them, because they cancelled whilst I was waiting on them to arrive. I didn't write anything other than the truth, but they have been reported and removed stating the site was not a review or advertising site. Seems incredibly unfair given that the poster who recommended the company actually works with them and they are allowing her to advertise them all over the place but don't allow anything negative to be said.
Anyway, I'm fed up with their lack of coherent thinking and have no desire to use them again.
Moan over.
Welcome aboard Cathie. :-)
Sounds like you travel to interesting places. Ghana's a bit different - it sometimes seems like everyone on here is a twentysomething going to either Thailand or Australia; I like it when someone starts writing about somewhere unusual.
Thanks Andy. You can obviously tell from the pic I'm not a twenty something.
I quite fancy Thailand, but it's low down on the list of places I want to visit before I die, and Australia, like the USA isn't on it at all (although I do think some of the scenery is rather fabulous).
I don't enjoy really touristy places... should I stop writing here.... as it's a welcome thread?
I suppose so. Look forward to reading you on the forums. :-)
