Hi! Just happen to stumble across this posting...

I just went to this place called Damai Lovina, which to me is absolutely lovely, doesn't mean u hv to stay there for long...its nearer to Menjangan island if u want to dive/snorkel, so u can stay there for a day or two. It is about 190USD a night tho, but its well worth it. hv a look at the website

hope u hv a good trip, bali's beautiful.

A beautiful hotel is the Sheraton Laguna Nusa Dua. Nestled among the majestic Nusa Dua peninsula on one of Bali’s most beautiful beaches

rates start at 90$

just back from bali days ago.if you like to do some water activities you have to cruise to nusa's very can check from the recommendation is bounty cruises/bali hai a little bad experience with island explorer fun ship cause a lot of ppl got sea sick because you have to sail for about 110 minutes.but it's worth the trip anyway.
and if you travel with someone you love, dont forget to visit jimbaran for a romantic dinner in the beach,it cost only 15$/person for a set menu sea food and transfer htl-jmbrn-htl.

Hi there,

My Bali trip is just around the corner. Can't wait for that day to come.

Could someone pls advise on the best attire to wear when entering a temple. Are there any restriction. Coz' holy places like in Grand Palace in Bangkok, visitor must wear proper attire during the entrance such like wearing a proper shoe, no sleeveless shirt, long pants or things like that.

Btw, what's the budget deal for car or motorcycle rentals will be?
Is it easily be found in places like Kuta or Sanur?
Your advise is much appreciate.

Nick ;)

hi kody,
good to hear you're vacation is coming soon.

to visit temples in bali just wear properly, better not sleeveless top, and not shorts. but if you wear shorts they have clothes for you to wear like a sarong and tie it around your waist.

car rental fee:
suzuki katana 100,000 per day
toyota kijang 150,000 per day
I can't remember the motorcycle rental fee.

happy vacation!

Thanks Zags,

How are you doing recently? How's life lately...
Hope eveything is fine. So where is your next backpack spot?
Btw, is the car rental price include the insurance or seperate?

Nick ;)

I'm fine Nick, thanks for asking
Haven't got any backpacking plan in a short while. Hopefully next year to Italy and Turkey.

The car rental price - i think it doesn't include insurance, i'm not so sure, but that is usually all you have to pay.

Just be aware when driving at night especially in remote areas... motorcycles might not use their lights, it seems to be some kind of "trend" for some people...

When you are in bali and need to ask something, you can always contact me.

Italy and Turkey? Fantastic!
Alright got your info then. One final question, do we need a specific license or a guide when renting a surfboard? Or anyone can rent it and play around near the beach.
Sometimes aren't it better to "try and error" your ownself rather with a guide (which mostly I bet got to pay) ?

You can rent a surfboard without a guide, and no specific license is required.

Oh btw there are many car rentals in Kuta, and should be so in Sanur.

Have fun! ;)

Hi Zags,

I will be touching down Bali around 10am (Malaysia Time) on 16th of October.
They'll be 4 of us there. We'll be staying for 5D4N in Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel, Jalan Hang Tuah, 46, Sanur 80228 Bali, Indonesia
Tel : (62-361) 281 781 Facsimile : (62-361) 281 782.

Once there, I bet I'm gonna take the metered cab all to way fmr the airport to the Sanur Hotel. And it'll be nice if I could get a modest jeep for rent, the cheapest the better, as long as it doesn't broke down...haha.
I'm planning the 1st day of arrival I'll drive back to Kuta Town for a walk, Nusa Dua and end up for the evening sunset view in Uluwatu Temple.

Day 2, I'm planning to conquer Besakih in Gunung Agung (not sure how long it's gonna take to climb Gunung Agung) will it be a tough one?. Btw, How long it's gonna take to drive frm Sanur Paradise Hotel all the way to Besakih? And are there any obvious road sign towards there. Meanwhile, would wanna go Tirta Gangga in the same day as well, possible?

Day 3, Would prefer for beach/islands/snorkling/surfing activity. Would like to know which islands best to go? Either Nusa Lembongan or Lombok (Gili Trawangan)
A day for islands activity will do right?

Day 4, Ubud in the morning and Tanahlot during the evening. I bet it'll be a long drive frm Ubud to Tanahlot. Any nice beaches in Tanahlot?

Day 5, :( heading home... I know I'm gonna miss Bali.

Hope it'll be a smooth ride/tour for us.
I'm now keeping my finger cross on the weather change and getting lost during drive-exploring.
