Jump on the open air tour buses once you get there - it's the best way to get to know a place and you'll have a better idea of what you want to see.

old-delhi with the red fort, bazars and a huge mosque (jameh Masjid). Walk around Chandi chowk. Paharganj is best for sleeping and eating, its conviently situated near the New-Delhi railwaystation. Better restaurants are at Conaught place. Go to India-gate and walk from there on the big boulevard (rajpath) to Vijay Chowk and the presidential buildings (pretty impressive with the red sand and the green lawns). In the south is Mehrauli archeological park with the Qutab minar (UNESCO monument). Nearby you could visit the Baha'i House of Worship, its a lotus shaped temple designed by an Iranian architect. There is more such as the Lodi gardens, Rajghat, Humayuns tombe etc...
