Hey all,

I'll be going to Yosemite with my girlfriend for a few days, and I'm looking for suggestions on really nice (luxurious, romantic, unique - doesn't have to be all three, but at least one of) accommodation which still doesn't cost _too_ exorbitantly much (I'm looking to stay below $200 a night). I used to know the perfect example of this in the form of Owl's Nest Lodging, but the owners of that are heading for retirement, so I'm looking for alternatives. Ideally located near the west entrances (or inside the park of course, but I don't think that's possible on our budget and still be nice?) as we'll be coming from San Francisco (but if it's nice enough we'll happily drive on to the south entrance). :)

hey Sander,

Check out about Evergreen Lodge which is cabin accommodation located right near the western entrance. you should be able to get a small one bedroom cabin there for under $200 I think.

Not sure if you've already been to Yosemite or not, but you will love it! :)

Thanks, that looks pretty nice. And yeah, I've been to Yosemite twice before. Looking very much forward to returning, especially since this'll be the first time for me in spring, and there might thus still be actual waterfalls worth the name. :)

  • also hopes anything is left of the poor old jeffrey pine on top of sentinel dome*

My only suggestions relating to Yosemite are camping related, so not much help there I'm afraid. We did manage to hit a bear with our car while driving there one night (not on purpose of course, it just jumped out in front of our car!).... ah, the good ol' days
