hey guys....
im already a proud owner of a 65ltr berhaus backpack with a day pack attached, however on my travels in europe i found that it was just too big. now im hitting US and was wondering if anyone could recommend something a bit smaller. i was thinking in a 35/40 lts range. Im not doing anything too extreme, just for my clothes and other rubbish you end up taking. Any ideas???

I got the Deuter ACT Lite 35+10 SL and I really like it. It does get a bit cramped and I might have been better off with the 45+10l version, but I already own a 55+5l backpack and wanted something significantly smaller.

tania, can I ask which Berghaus pack it is? How do you find the quality? I am thinking of either the 65 +15 Spirit or 55+15 Silhouette (both on sale online as old stock). Want something to take my fleece, goretex etc without having to stuff it too full & stress it. Also sleeping bag going on this trip. Can you make any recommendations?

Tania (and Lisa),

Guys, I would reccomend the Macpac range of bags. Try somwhere like Cotswold in the UK (shop on online). They come in all shapes and sizes. They might be a bit more expensive than Berghaus etc, but then you get what you pay for. They are waterproof too, although i would reccomend a rucksack liner too.

Hope this helps.
