hey!!
i know not so long ago i posted a thread about island hopping in greece, well....i've changed my mind and i'm gonna go and live/work out there from may-sept!!
has anyone done this before or is planning on doing this?
im gonna go on my own, so its all a bit scary and i've never been to greece before!!
i've been recommend to go to stalis as its a happy/medium sort of place, not to quiet and not too much!! and its right next to malia for the crazy nightlife!!
would anyone recommend stalis too?
any info/advice would be great!!
as i dont know where to go!!
anyone know how easy it is to find work and accommodation?
from what ive researched i dont think finding a job will be a problem, but accommodation doesnt seem to be mentioned much!!
thanks!
bye!

I would definately recommend Stalis...it is perfect as it is not too crazy, but close enough to the party scene in Malia if you want to go there. I worked in Stalis in 2005, right after finishing uni. I really loved it. You could show up in Stalis and easily find a job within a week or two. If you feel hesitant about that you have two options. One is to look on www.expatriates.com, there are always Stalis jobs listed on there. The other option would be to go on holiday to Stalis for two weeks, with hotel included. This way you would have accomodation for two weeks while you were looking for work.

You don't have to worry about accomodation out there...it is very reasonable. You should be able to find an apartment out there for 250-300 euro a month. I would suggest getting a roomate and making that even less. I lived with a girl from Leciester and only paid about 160 euro a month....super cheap!

Another city that had alot of jobs, but wasnt too crazy was hersonnisos. Just to calm any fears you may have....you will have a great time in Greece....it is a GREAT place. When I traveled to Greece, I went completely by myself from America. The first week was very odd for me, but as soon as I put myself out there and started meeting people at work, everything was absolutely great. BEst of luck if you go. Let me know what you decide!!
