My friend before everything sorry for my bad english . you are from canada you must be used to the cold if you like snow sports Argentina and chile are terrific ( specially chile for the Andes mountains ) , however Brasil is a tropical country , it has a cold winter but it still uses to be very hot specially north and northeast.

I am from Brasil and there are a lot of places that i would like to go here . A good start for brasil would be Brasilia ( capital of country ) you are in the center of the country there and it is full of embassies and travel agencies to give you support . It is also full of nature , it has a lot of great parks and foreigners . And you would get to know one very interesting city. ( search Brasilia you will enjoy it )

the others places in Brasil that is good to know are vasts . I just dont know your tastes , Mine is for beach . Rio is one tip besides i dont like the kind of people that lives in Rio de Janeiro there are cool people .

Parati and Trindade in rio state is nice too , and são paulo city you would love to watch some sports in the stadium full for a classic , it is pure adrenaline. Well it is all i can write here , no more space . Goodluck.

Thanks for the input. Ramone, I have only lived in Canada for a couple of years, I prefer the tropics! I prefer the beach.

On a side note, I checked ticket prices online as well as through a travel agent. Below is the price she quoted me. Any ideas what the 3 different prices are in regards to?

Here is a quote for the Air that you would need for the itinerary you have given us:

Boa noite beyondevil.

This was very good fares that you found , they are looking very cheap. My travel agency 's boss that is my teacher said you get very low fares.

But i keep giving you the advice of passing Brasilia between your travel to manaus and rio . You can find this connection and it won´t add a very high price to your travel .This will make the travel more complete.

Thanks a lot guys for your help. I have been waiting for my Argentine visa problem is its going to take a few more weeks.

I have decided to forget the Argentina sector of the trip, I have a Brazilian Visa. I would like to see two countries could you suggest one to travel to? I was really looking forward to diving with the South Right Whale but I guess I have to wait a few more years before I get to do that

do you still have like 3 weeks to travel because i would suggest to stick to brazil only, its a huge country with lots to do ..the distances are great and that will take a fair amount to travel ....... i would suggest you visit Diamantina National Park, 6 hrs inland from Salvador which was great ...if not you can always go to Bolivia as well, im here at the moment and having a great time ..very cheap compared to Brazil but even bolivia is a fair size country to travel ...

First time travellers to South America do not realize that the continent is twice as large as Europe (including European Russia/Ukraine) and that Brasil alone is the size of the continental USA, there are several excellent city, country and regional Guide Books available on travelling South America and it is wise to take the ones you'll require with you on your trip and study up, as well as surf the Internet, before departure. Spanish and Portuguese phrase books a must if having little or no command of either language. Be aware, especially in the larger Brasilian cities such as Rio or Sao Paulo, never wander around alone late at night, take an authorized taxi to and from your destination...sign up for a non profit hospitality club, where local members are very active in Brazil and Argentina, hosting visitors or showing travellers around the area if they are unable, most local members are bi lingual, avoids a lot of hassles, I was first a member of 'hospitality association' in 1980 (snail mail and telephone days) mostly Europe-North America, locals take you where other travellers would never think of going, cheaper, one has a better time, better people, more relaxed, local members act as interpreters and know things like where ATMs and Banks are (I live in Latin America, I NEVER go to any ATM outside a bank or building day or night) and what areas to avoid..and get pointed in the right direction towards the next city or destination. Message for details. A forum such as this may often confuse thefirst time traveller and remember, advice is cheap and in this day and age..virtual..I can send you 30 travelouges and 500 photos of Argentina and Brasil tommorow on line, won't do you any good until get off the plane, smell the smells, navigate in the first city and begin your jouney..3 dimensional..travelling is all about people..not just destinations. REEL travel.
