I'm living in London at the moment and I am wanting to go back home to Australia in December. What is the cheapest way of getting back home (brisbane). Should I fly via Asia??
Any suggestions?

Check out the UK laws and commit a crime which will, without fail ,get you deported to your country of origin.

Cheapest way without getting deported would probably be book in advance on Oasis airlines going via Hong Kong.

You should be able to pick up a cheap flight from london to Hong Kong if you book well in advance. If you are not fussy with your dates and are lucky enough to find a fare that is the hotdeal fare. I just looked and if you book for the 5th or 6th of December, you can get a ticket from London-Hong Kong for 75pounds+taxes which make the total to 152.30pounds. I don't know the airlines which would get you from there to Brisbane other than Cathay Pacific (which is approx 559.14 pounds to Brisbane), but you could undoubtedly make your way as far south as Singapore get a Tiger Airways flight to Darwin and then a Jetstar flight to Brisbane for less than flying direct from Hong Kong to Brisbane. I'm unsure of what the budget Airlines that would do such flights in South East Asia, because Air Asia doesn't fly that route. Someone else reading this might have an idea of what the cheapest budget airlines you'd take to get from Hong Kong-Singapore.

Qantas has a flight at the moment for £626.10 one way in December from London-Brisbane via Sydney which if you compare it to that £529.14 Cathay pacific flight from Hong Kong-Brisbane, that seems pretty reasonable especially seeing you'd have a lot less mucking around.

I guess it depends if you want to get home as quick as possible or make a little bit more of an adventure out of your return journey.

Maybe you could try China Eastern Airlines. There seems to be heaps of people coming to Australia from the UK on this airline saying it is a fair bit cheaper than some of the others.
