get a broadband connection and download movies and other entertaining stuff for free using bittorrent. that way, you will be saving money that otherwise be used on renting/buying DVDs or going to the movies.

Quoting clarife

...whenever I get disheartened I just think that one weeks overtime here will help me live in paradise in thailand for a month!

Its a good incentive!

I tend to do a similar thing - I always look at what I'm about to spend money on here and convert it to what that money would buy at my destination.... For example:

Would I rather buy lunch today from the cafe for $8.00 or buy 3 beers in Prague when I get there?

I get paid to travel. Travel agents don't have to pay the same prices as the general public. I own a lucrative and powerful travel franchise and I am looking for partners.

i save atleast 50% of my salary by putting it in a seperate saving account, other than the one i use for daily expenses. Its only in extreme crunch times ,i take money from there.I have saved a lot because of this habit.

While on topic of saving + travelling, while you're out on the road travelling and having fun, do you have a pool of cash sitting in an investment account, or managed funds?

I'm just curious as to how much difference I'll gain, and how far this strategy will get me when I return..

I'm starting to wonder if there is ever such thing as a wealthy traveller...

If you're feeling lucky you could always pan for gold...

... then if you hit pay dirt you don't have to save ;)
