I'm spending two weeks in Vietnam in July of this year (not long I know!!) and would love to hear any suggestions about where to go and what to do. I'm flying into HCMin, am going alone and have never been in Vietnam before. Any advice much appreciated

With only 14 days, you really cannot go from HCMC to HAN using the open tour. bus. Unless you can book a return flight on Pacific Airlines. Then you could get all the way to HAN and fly back to HCMC.

Sample itinerary: 3 days HCMC seeing the delta, tunnels, city and then head north. Choose DaLat for some cool weather, trees & lakes. 2 days. Nha Trang is the next stop after DaLat and has a nice beach plus offshore islands to tour, 2 days. Overnight bus to Hoi An, 2 days there and on to Hue. 2 days there and overnight bus to HAN. 2 days in HaNoi before flying back to HCMC.

If you cannot get a flight from either Hue or HAN, then I would not go past Hoi An. Spend a few more day in each stop on the open tour and then get a direct train or bus back from Hoi An to HCMC and only use up one of your remaining days.

Good luck and have a great time in VN. I have plenty of VN photos in my gallery that may help with your decision. PM me if you have questions.

Thanks a million, I'm going to look up those places you've mentioned over the next few days and try to plan my route. I may extend my stay in Vietnam to about 16/17 days if possible.
Thanks again mate
