Travel Forums Asia Volunteer in thailand or Laos

Hi everyone, I want to buy a world ticket to go to Thailand, Oz, NZ…
I'd like to spend part of my holydays working as a volunteer in the SE Asia.
Could somebody recommend me a trustworthy and not too expensive NGO? If someone has experience as a volunteer in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia or the tsunami-affected area, I would really appreciate any suggestion or advice.

Thank you

Hello Nautilus:)

There is a childrens home, near the Burma border, in Thailand, that would likely appreciate your teaching skills. Many of the people living there, are single mothers, from Burma, who would find it very difficult to survive, if it was not for this organisation.
It costs 120 bahts per day, to stay there. This includes 3 vegarian meals, per day.
Their website is www.neohumanistfoundation.org/vidyadharma/

Please do check out Hien's recommendation.

Keith and I spent an amazing time at Preychrouk and can overwhelmingly support the work of SAGE Foundation in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

If you would like any further details, please do not hesitate to be in contact with us.

In the meantime, check out our blog for pictures of our adventure at Preychrouk.

Enjoy :)
