In a way or another everyone has a little complain from a air company. Some air companies are good some are not. I am wondering, what is your best experience with an air company? Which company would you fly again or have a miles card? Which company you don not recommend?
My favourite air company is the Dutch one KLM. I am flying with it again in August. I flied once with KLM and although my first experience with the City Hoper was not the best one - They cancelled the flight then made us move to another plane - It is my favourite airline. The flight from Brazil to Amsterdam was the best 'long distant' flight that I had already taken. The board service is really good.
Air Companies
I'd say that Singapore's my least dispreferred company
I was happily surprised by South African Airways on my flight from Frankfurt to Johannesburg. Leg space was not bad at all and they had a good enterntainment programme on board.
Although in general not my favorite KLM had a very nice flight last year from Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania with a brand new airplane, much legspace and a new enterntainment programme where you could select your favorite songs from cd's to make your own list you wished to here, instead of hearing the same songs on a tight schedule the whole flight.
unfortunately, cathay pacific was really disappointing, even Iberia was better. Just very tight places and nothing special about the service either.
London to Bangkok, Thai Airways, allways very good, and direct!
LAN/Chile,always in time good service.
COPA/Panama had to cancel 2 x my flight because of weather conditions, the set me up in very good hotels and gave generous vouchers.
Singapur airline,fantastic service
NZ air still good
KLM/Aire France what can I say,I have no other choice
Marlis
Cathay Pacific
I like SQ, KLM, ANA, JAL and Cathay Pacific. Never had problems with their service. SQ is good for long-haul flights - I flew SQ when I went to London and it was a smooth journey. Gulf Air was okay too, although the food wasn't anything to wow at. Remember flying NZ Air a long time ago and that was pretty decent too.
I refuse to fly MAS (Malaysian Airlines) again. The service sucks.
the worst experience - KLM (I have flown KLM twice - for the first time they lost my luggage, for the second - they stole some brand new clothes from my suitcase. i dont think i will ever use royal dutch air service again. apparently they really don“t like me
best experiences - lufthansa. i like really travelling with them, they are always very professional even when they are delayed.
Just want to point out that most of the handling of the lugage is done by seperate companies (like e.g. Swissport), so how irritating it is, losing your lugage is often something the airline is not responsable for. But the way they handle the problem, is their concern. (are they bringing the lugage to you fast, or does it take a while, do you get compensation, etc.)
I also like Lufthansa, but also SAS. (which like Lufthansa is also a partner in the StarAlliance group).

yes, it is other companies that handle the luggage, but from the passenger's point of view it is irrelevant because i buy the ticket from the airline and pay the airline, so they are responsible for all travel, including the luggage. it's not passenger's business if the airline outsources some of the services he/she pays for. the airline may blame the luggage handling company, but the passenger may blame the airline.
and the handling of my case was outrageous. klm left me in a nordic country in march without my luggage, including proper (warm!) clothes , promising that "you will have you luggage still today or tomorrow in the morning". so i believed and waited. for a week. before i finally stopped believing their promises and bought new clothes, i got a very nasty cold beacuse of using inappropriate clothes. i had to receive emergency medical treatment and buy medicines. after i got home (still without the luggage) i asked them to pay for my treatment and medicines, which they refused.
and yes, they found my luggage, 3 weeks after i returned home, and sent it to the country of my permanent residence, although i had told them that i want the luggage in the country of my temporary residence. when i complained they said that according to the procedures the luggage is sent to the passenger's permanent residence, not temporary. case closed. i got my luggage, so why am i being such a nuisance
