I'm planning to go to Norway/Iceland and have heard that you can catch a ship between the two. Does anyone know any names of companies that do this? How long it takes? I'm not fussed if it's a cargo ship that also takes passengers.

Thanks

Hi!

There's one from Bergen. Name of the company is Smyril Line.

I highly reccomend a traintrip over the mountains (daytime) from Oslo to Bergen. Cheap tickets if you book in advance at www.nsb.no (so called minipris, 200nok)

From Bergen to East Iceland is about two days, a one way ticket costs 85 euro in the low season, to almost 200 in the high season.
