I went to the Ambassador tailor on Sukhumvit Road - amazing suits for small prices

Hi Guys,

What kind of prices are you talking about to have a suit made?

Or any kind of outfit for that matter?

Depending on what you want, about anything from about 70 - 200 pounds for a full, tailor-made suit. For a fee they'll arrange delivery to your house so that you don't have to carry the stuff around on holiday.

I got a chinese style silk dress made in Singapore for about £70 fully lined and absolutely gorgeous colour of green. That was 2 years ago. Think suzy wong dress and about mid calf length!

[ Edit: sorry l cant spell! ]

Sorry I know this is an old post and not entirely relevant to the original post but i feel so enraged by the lieing cheats that are Siam Emporium (based on Sukumvit Road, Bangkok) that I feel a responsibilty to make sure that no other poor sole has the misfortune in dealing with them. Again that's SIAM EMPORIUM. Never ever use them, unless you want to pay alot for nothing.

My tip is don't get taken in by touts offering cheap suits around Khoasan road. The cloth and tailoring will typically be of poor quality.

I personally recommend Tailor Pro who are based in the luxurious 5 star hotel, Somerset lake point sukhumvit soi 16. They are tailors who speak good English, aged around late 50's or early 60s so very experienced and make the suits actually on the premises.

They operate a very low pressue sales environment and will leave you to look through fashion magazines and catalogues until you spot the design you want.

If anyone is interested their telephone number is 022582246

There has been a lot of discussions on tailors in Thailand, in this forum and others. Everyone has their favorite. There is one at the Suriwong Near Patpong road that has been mentioned several times.
I had a suit and two shirts made in Bangkok when I was there last year. I got it at:
115/1 Siamheritage
opp Le meridien Bangkok
I was looking for a suit, and was tired of the pushy tailors that are on the streets of Bangkok. Reminds me of bar girls trying to get you into the bar. The tailor's name is Sonny. He does his own cuttings, but ships out the sewing. Two fittings and he delivered everything to our hotel. Great fitting suit and shirts. When I make it back to Bangkok, I'll purchase some more.
So far pleasant experiences. I find his workmanship to be good & the price is reasonable.
I personally rate it "High-level" tailor

Do not believe comment #15 - Tailor Pro wrote it themselves, they are infamous for writing fake reviews and comments on the Internet and especially on travel forums. They are family of that other tailors which also spams the Internet, Savile Row tailors. same goes for Excelsior - all related.
They are also related to James Fashion tailor, that tailor where tuk-tuk drivers take foreign tourists too for commission.

Google for Tailor Pro and you'll see just how much they spam internet travel forums with 1 comment opening posts just like #15 here.
