Hello, I am a US citizen and I would like to spend 6 months in Ireland next summer/fall. I understand I do not need a visa for up to 90 days. What do I do so I can stay legally another 90 days? Do I have to apply for a re-entry visa or something? Show proof of funds?... if so, how much? Is it difficult to do this? I also would like to take short (maybe a week) trips to other countries like France and Italy. Thank you for any advice/information!!
6 months in Ireland
Hi, these 2 websites below should give you all the info you need and provide contact details if you have further questions:
http://www.inis.gov.ie/
http://www.citizensinformation.ie/categories/moving-country/moving-to-ireland
I'd encourage you to come to Northern Ireland during your visit, don't just limit yourself to south of the boarder !
Thank you!
Luke: Apparently US citizens are allowed to be in Northern Ireland for 6 months without a visa I'm assuming I could fly there and just go to the Republic (after spending some time in NI, of course
). Is it easy to cross the border without hassle? Thanks
No it's 90 days again.
