hi, i intend to go to greece with a friend island hopping through out september. I gather that by late september it may be getting a bit 'cold' north, well colder than the south so starting north and travelling south is what i was thinking of doing. We have no real plans and are not entirely sure where to start, we also are keeping open the option of flying from uk to southern italy or venice, then getting a ferry to greece, if going via venice maybe going to croatia for a few days too.
Our plan is to spend as many nights as possible sleeping on remote beaches , spend the least money as possible, and stay away from tourist resorts such as kos and kavos...
Is it possible to just get on a charter plane the day we would want to leave (end september begining october) or would it be wiser to book someting as a target to get to?
I do not really have a clue where to start, i have read some of the feeds on the forum and it seems that it is easy and their is no need to plan. Is this the case? Are the ferries frequent and cheep? How costly is food etc?

Thanks for your help

hi this time of the year there are no issues with ferries. is a good site for ferries and finding accomodation in any of the islands is not an issue. just go to Corfu and Cephallonia in the ioanian islands and also is a magic place with preserved complex of villages and quiet beaches..... i would avoid the cyclades since very windy at the time and can get chilly for the beach......

I used Travel2Greece for my trip to Greece. We booked our honeymoon through them to Mykonos and Santorini and it was wonderful. We stayed at Ostraco Suites and Rocabella. Both were amazing! I highly recommend them!
