Hey guys,
I am going to be travelling to Canada (Toronto) later in the week and I was wondering about the legal drinking age. I know this was partially addressed in a prior post, but I needed some things clarified. I'm 19 years old and from the United States... I have heard that Candian bars won't serve US citizens unless they're 21. Anyone know what's what on this topic?
Thanks for any help you can give me!

Hi there,
I never heard about such a thing. So what if you are an american or not. In Ontario, the legal drinking age is 19, in Quebec, 18. And by the way, clubbing in Montreal is the way to go

For most places in Canada you can legally drink and buy booze at 18 or 19...for us in Alberta it's 18.
And us refusing an American a drink? Oh my what a crazy idea! We Canadians would never do that.
Must be some stodgy person from somewhere that decided it was funny to do that and word got out...still, don't worry...if you're 18/19 and you're a tourist in Canada...drink up!
Cheers!

Hey guys, thanks for answering my question. I guess it was a kinda dumb question in hindsight, but I did hear the rumors. I just got back from the Molson Rocks Canada concert (which was amazing!). I didn't end up drinking while there, but I'm definitely planning on going back to Canada to do some travelling and partying. Again, thanks for your help!
