Just come back from 4 months of travelling and already missing it lots! What do other travellers miss? I'm missing doing new stuff every day, meeting new people, and weirdly, waking up surrounded by strangers! And how can I get over this?!

I miss the feeling that I am doing something important with my day. When I am travelling, I always feel like I am doing something big with the day, even if all I am doing is arranging a bus to the next place I am going. I feel that if I am on the road that I am always expanding my mind and learning something new.

When I am at work, I don't get that feeling as much as I wish. I still do learn things, but it doesn't feel like every day is as full as it could be.

And I miss not having to go to work.

I miss that non-stop feeling. When I travel I try to see as much as I can in a place before I move on to the next place or go home - so even if I'm relaxing at a beach for a few hours, I'm still thinking "What should I do next?" I also miss exploring new places, cultures, etc, etc. I think I was born to explore, and I try to do that as much as I can in my home town, but it isn't the same as being in a foreign land. I guess the prospect of getting lost somewhere I don't know too well intrigues me, lol.

I miss getting to know people - whether it be getting to know the friend(s) I took the trip with better or new people I meet along the way. Obviously I can still meet knew people here in Montreal, but I think it's great having people all over the world that you can speak to. They can give you a little insight on how they live and it's just cool to hear someone else's point of view on life, work, school, whatever, from somewhere else on the globe.

I miss visiting historical monuments and taking tons of pictures of them. I miss shopping in different stores (lol, I'm such a girl, lol). Heck, I even miss planning the trip.

Sitting here writing this I'm realising that I can't list everything that I miss because I will go on for ages....

To sum it up: I just miss travelling.

Katie ;)

I miss the excitement and the buzz of new places, and new friends.

My job as an accountant in a multi-national company just doesn't cut it in the excitement stakes!
