Heya! I'm flying off to the UK at the very end of August, staying a weekend in London and following that (September 3rd more or less) am planning to go on a backpacking trip to WALES for 3-4 weeks!

Why Wales? Because it's close enough to London, it's small enough to allow lots of travelling over 3 or 4 weeks, everyone speaks English there (well almost), and it's got castles and stuff!

Plus this will be my first "real" backpacking trip, one of many in the near future I hope, so I'm going for somewhere relatively easy for a beginner :)

I'm a 28 year old guy living in Toronto Canada (though I got a UK working holiday so I'm moving to the UK...), I'm originally from Israel but have been living in Toronto since 2003!

Hoping to find a partner who's also interested in Wales or is also making similar plans, someone young at heart preferably between the ages of 20-35, male or female is both cool... however must be gay friendly! Not that this is a gay-themed trip, just I'm gay-themed ;)

I'm going by my lonesome unless someone from here (you?) wants to join me! I'm using the new Lonely Planet Wales as a guide, and thinking of starting off with a week (yes, a week) in Cardiff before working my way Pembrokshire and then up the coast and interior to the North and finally Angelsey.

The trip will be by train and buses, staying at hostels or wherever's cheap (it's cheaper if we share a room!). Although my budget is decent for the trip, I don't intend to blow it all if I can help it.

I'm not a sporty guy by any means, by I do hope the trip will have at least some physical aspect to it. I will probably not be coasteering or climbing up the most difficult path towards Mt Snowdon, but I am hoping to rough it up just a little bit... did I mention I'm a beginner backpacker? (Not a beginner traveller though).

Hit me up!

Just got back from a weekend in North Wales.
I can recommend Betws-y-Coed if you like small leafy villages with lots of old buildings (and lots of tourists). Comes completed with a YHA hostel a short walk from town. Conway Castle is also worth a look if you like castles.
