"if you had a bigger budget" - why not Fuji Finepix S2. 12 megapixel, about $2500 Australian. Based on the Nikon F80 (or N80 for americans) i love it. its easy to use doesnt have too much stuff connected with it. 2 inch LCD screen and ive seen photos 2 metres by 1 metres tack sharp and beautiful. its also (i har, idont use it for this) THE camera for wedding photographers etc etc because it handles portraits and skin tones really well. it takes normal AA batteries rather than those stupid CR2s that cost about $30 each. and because its built on a nikon you use nikon lenses (anyone tried that 12-24 mm Nikon lens?? mmmmmmmm!!)

i have one and i love it. end of story :)

Hi Guys,

I own a Nikon F75 SLR, but I m looking to upgrade to a Digital SLR.
Can somebody could let me know the costs of the following models:

Nikon D100
Nikon D70
Nikon D2X
Cannon EOS 20D

Also I would like to know the image resolution for each of them and which would be the ideal place to get one at the cheapest rates.

Chandan - look on the webs site search engines for the camera you want - there are great sites like 'ebay inc' for a good price and delivery.
This has moved us into the old worry about spending alot of money locally for a camera and then finding on the web some really good saving options......with the question how safe is it to deal on the net, I only do this if they use paypal or one of those methods of paying.

ive used ebay many many times and i have never had trouble ever. i bought my camera online (A$2000) and all my lenses and flash and tripod...make sure you ask for extra wrapping around the camera...and you could also insure it before you bought it. i live in australia and to insure my camera and lenses and filters and flash etc etc etc (about A$3000) cost me $35!
