Several hostels are OK and less than $20/nite for the dorm. Take a look at InnCrowd Hostel or Sleepy Sam's B & B. Most visitors hit one of the many shopping malls to search for bargains. I thought Jurong Bird Park and Sentosa were worth my time. If you like flowers, the Botanical Garden would be worth your time. A night safari at the zoo is another interesting option. Have a great trip.

hi Marita

I stayed at Hotel Supreme at the orchard road. It was decently priced at 100 singapore dollars, considering the posh location. I stayed in July for 4 nights. The important MRT station of Dhoby Ghaut was located nearby. Dhoby Ghaut is an important interchange junction where East-west and North-south MRT lines meet, so practically u can go everywhere in Singapore.

I would suggest u the following:

Day1: Full day in Sentosa Island, its really worth it
Day2: Visit the Zoo, Jurong bird park, evening take the night safari
Day3: Visit the Esplanade area, city hall, fullerton hotel area, Marina bay , Merlion park

If u have less time u can either take the Sentosa Island excursion or can visit the city area followed by a night out at Safari

Hope this helps, do let me know if u need more info

Have a nice trip

Try the wooden boat. At Clarke Quay you can take that boat and enjoy a very beautiful scenery of Singapore. Maybe you can stop at the Esplanade.

heys, im a local so of no help to the accommodation part.

but i was thinking you may like to check out the night scene in Singapore as well.
Zouk/Clarke Quay areas are pretty popular here.

If you like to chill out, there are also new joints like Tanglin Village where people just hang around for a drink or two after work and its probably a good place to people watch.

Alternatively, from Sentosa, you can choose to take a cab up to Mount Faber where this is this restaurant overlooking Singapore. Nice view, and of course the drinks may be a little pricey.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I stayed at Farrer Park Hostel... if you book at internet its 12$ for dorm & walk-in is 15$... it was a clean place... and owner was a very friendly person who used to give me free mineral water bottle every time i go out ...

and if you are flying Singapore Airline... you can use your boarding card to avail free city rides in buses operated by Singapore airlines...

Cheers and have a safe trip...
