Hi All, I will be travelling to Philipines(Manila) for 6 months starting from Dec 07... Pls let me know the places "one shouldnt miss seeing" in philippines...

If you want a really great beach resort i would recommend Sipalay in the south of Negros Occidental.

Thanks for the info... I checked for Sipalay and it seems far from manila... Im not sure whether ill get to see that as I get only two days weekend off... and that too not sure... any suggestion on places nearby Manila would be helpful.

Bohol is worth a visit. Boracay is very nice but maybe a little commercialised now. Malapascua maybe worth checking out. Palawan should also be on your list. Banaue as well!

Puerto Galera on the island of Mindoro is an easy day trip. Bus/boat combo available in Manila. Beautiful beaches and diving. Worth one of your weekends.

Check out the Corregidor light and sound show. Boat departs from Roxa Boulevard area.

Try to check out Corregidor, where Doug McArthur supposedly said "i shall return", and ive heard Palawan, and its town of Puerto Princesa is quite amazing too. Ships go there but domestic flights are a far more convenient option.

I think Boracay is still one of the best places to go here in the Philippines and i recommend it to you. I post some "places i wishes to go' to my blog site. Visit it at Capiz, Paradise Philippines, Good luck!
