Hey guys and girls

I'll be heading to the Phillipines next March and I have no clue where I'm going.
I've been looking up places but I thought I'd rather get it first hand so here we go..

I'm looking to do some good diving and I'd like to find a good liveaboard for a week or so.
I have the open water certificate so I'm looking for advanced open water +

I really like places that are not crowded by tourists but still you can find someone to talk to here and there.

I don't need the nicest bungalow, I'd rather have a shitty bunglow next to a beautiful beach.

My return flight is from Manila and I wouldn't mind spending the last 2 days of my trip papering in a nice resort.

If you have any ideas, please reply I really appreciate it :)

My friend went to Palawan and had great divng, not much nightlife however. I went to Moalboal on Cebu. Good diving, cheap huts, no nightlife. Puerto Galera has good diving, beautiful beaches, some nightlife. Not a bad choice.

By the by, whatever happened to your planned US trip? Never heard from you again.

good info from mike. i'd also add bohol onto the list of good dive spots. i dived in cebu, puerta galera and bohol which were all great and dirt cheap. heard very good things about palawan esp wreck diving. have a great time

Palawan is awesome.. I think Moalboal is a bit overrated though - and Bohol is nice but uneven in terms of quality.

But the further south you go the clearer the waters seem to be. unfortunately there is a lot of cyanide fishing in the Philippines so don't expect to see too much in the way of big or even decent size marine life in areas where there is good visibility.

If you really want kick ass diving I'd consider heading south to Malaysia and Sipadan which is some of the finest in the world.
