Mexico, Yucatan Peninsula, Isla Holbox

Has anyone visited the island called Isla Holbox? And do you know the best way to get there from Playa del Carmen or from Merida?

We took the Federal Highway south from Playa del Carmen and then took the Coba Road west from Tulum. From there you can follow the signs to Isla Holbox. It's worth buying an atlas when you get to Mexico. They sell one by Guia Roji which can be bought in Playa at WalMart or Commercial Mexicana.

Thanks, I'm assuming you had a car. We ended up taking a bus from Cancun and that worked out fine. However, there is not toilet on the bus and the bus doesn't make stops so it's a challenge to not use a toilet for 3.5 hours.
