Hey! Im heading to Sydney in February 2008 on my own (hopefully for a year) and was wondering if anyone knew of a good agency to register with online for finding a job?
I was thinking of registering before I left, although Im not exactly sure when I would be looking for a work, wanna have a bit of fun first!
There seems to be a load of websites advertising jobs, I'm not sure where to start so any advice would be welcome! Cheers!

I live in Canberra but I can give you a few general tips. It really depends on the work you are interested in doing. There are a few good professional agencies in Australia - I had a good run with Hudson. Seek is a good website for job listings. If you are interested in hospitality work you might have more luck taking a short resume with you and walking the streets for a day.

Im hopefully doing the same thing, except i hope to be out in oz beg of march, ive got my working holiday visa which was super quick online, but I know what you mean about all the job agencys, I dont know any recommended ones yet, so shout out to all for help!!!

Thanks upside down yeah I kinda heard that walking the streets was a good way to get casual work but I think ill look up Hudson as well.
I did a TEFL course a while ago do you know if theres much teaching work around?
hippo.com.au is a good site to register with, they specialise in part-time, casual and holiday work. you can tell them which city you'll be in and they'll send job alerts to your email inbox. There's always seasonal work of some sort going on somewhere in Aussie (fruit picking/packing, vineyard work, factories etc) so if you'd be interested in that jobsearch.gov.au/harvesttrail is a useful site. I spent a few months working in Aussie earlier in the year, so if you'd like any more info PM me, I can give you lots more sites/info to look up
