I plan visit Italy from 12/23--1/7, and as my planed should be by train. but i really busy in last 2 weeks , so just make some reservation online today, but when i access railkey. com almost train ticket has been sold out, so still have other website can make reservation? or do you think get tour by car in Italy is a good idea as well? then maybe I can find some place to recent car.

and also I draft a schedule for whole trip, so want to get your help to check it is reasonable or not, thanks! and also please check whether I missed some funny place or famous historic city. thanks a lot!

12/24 tour of Rome
12/25 tour of Rome
12/26 tour of Rome
And departure to Naples in night
12/27 tour of Pompeii ( is Pompeii really close to Naples? How I can get there? Can I complete tour in Pompeii in 1 day?)

We also tried to get train ticket for the 23 December from Trenitalia and eventually had to pay more by getting them from this agency:

I booked them in late-November and many tickets had already sold out. It is a very busy period for travelling in italy.

I suggest you (a) try to hire a car but (b) drastically reduce the cities you intend to visit. Perhaps you could miss Naples and do it on another visit. Rome, Milan and Venice are possible in your timescale. Pisa is not close to Milan but about an hour's drive from Florence/Firenze. There are some car hire tips relevant to italy on this site:

its not as nice as a train, but, there are also buses you can take between cities. i've done that when the train was not an option. i don't know any national bus companies, but everytime i got to a city, i would figure out my transportation options from there once I got there--that's oftentimes easier than doing the research online! good luck.
